Grand Central Terminal New York City Engagement: Emily & Jeff

This past year I’ve been fortunate to have several of our clients living in New York City. So I’ve been happy when they have suggested New York as a backdrop for their engagement session.  Especially since, New York is the City that inspired me to become a photographer.   { View full post }

New York City Engagement Session - Katie and Connor

Beautiful!  Fun!  Wow!  That’s how I’d describe my afternoon engagement session with Katie and Connor.  We spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon strolling through the little streets of Greenwich Village through Washington Square Park and then jumped in a cab up to the Flat Iron building.  And, even their adorable pooch, Teddy got in the fun.

Engagement Session Ideas and Tips!

I love photographing weddings, but its engagement sessions that always make me feel like I really get to know the couple.  It’s a time to celebrate your engagement, relax in front of the camera and get some stunning photos of the two of you!

Here are a few tips:

Clothing

  • It’s a special photo shoot so feel free to get all dolled up, but wear clothes (and shoes!) that you can move in.
  • Add a pop of color!  A bright scarf can also make a great prop.
  • Think about getting your ring cleaned so that it really sparkles in the photos!

 Locations

  • Pick a place you love and that has meaning to you for at least some of your photos.
  • Think about the time of day and how many people will be in the area.
  • Think about having an iconic historic background or maybe something more intimate at your favorite café.

Keep an eye out for more photos and tips coming soon!

Samantha & Mark: Engagement Session

Just last week I met Samantha and Mark on the steps of the Baltimore Museum of Art for their engagement session.  We had been trying to schedule something around the Fall foliage and, also around Super Storm Sandy.  Fortunately for us, she left some leaves on the trees around Baltimore City!  And, we had a great time.  I can’t wait for the wedding ~ next June at the Suburban Club and Rachael Fineberg of Mango Productions will be helping to put everything together!  Enjoy! { View full post }

Sarah & Tim Engagement Session Central Park

With just a bit rain, some couds and a bit of sun, we had just enough working for us to create some great shots with Sarah and Tim in NYC.  Both are Baltimore natives, now living in Brooklyn, I wanted to create some romantic images with iconic NYC backgrounds.  We started in Central Park at the Bethesda Foutain… where it was NYC on a Sunday as usual – i.e. lots of crowds!  Then we found a secluded spot ont he mall with the beautiful old Elm trees hanging overhead.  And then we headed up to 42nd and Lexington to take a few shots in the street in front of Grand Central.  Both Tim and Sarah would super great sports willing to stand in traffic so I could get the shots with traffic.Sarah Schlotterbach and Tim Perl, getting married next June at the Peabody Library

Mount Vernon Engagement! Lauren & Dan

We had the pleasure of shooting Lauren and Dan’s engagement session last week in Mount Vernon Park.  They were both so natural in front of the camera. We had such a blast!   Lauren and Dan met on the Raven’s field as they both moved to the area to be Raven’s cheerleaders. What a wonderful way to meet!

They are getting married at the American Visionary Arts Museum in November and we cannot wait to share the day with them again! An absolutely beautiful couple. Congratulations Lauren and Dan! { View full post }
