‘St. Alphonsus’

Sinead and Cory met like a lot of couples do these days, on the internet.  Their first date was at the Boathouse in Canton and the romance quickly blossomed.  With a deep passion for the Christmas holiday, Cory knew that by asking Sinead to marry him by writing it on a Christmas ornament on the 23rd of December was a sure thing.  Their favorite thing about their wedding day was seeing all of their family and friends from across the world (traveling from S. America, Alaska, England, and Ireland).

Their wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Alphonsus Church; which provided a beautiful backdrop for their wedding.  From there the new bride and groom ventured with their wedding party to the streets of Fells Point before joining their guests at the 1840’s Ballroom.  This beautiful event was coordinated and designed by Beth Bailey of Elizabeth Bailey Weddings.  With gorgeous florals and room set up by Rennie of Simply Beautiful.

Katie and Tony met in Hawaii on Match.com in 2014.  Tony messaged Katie but did not getting an immediate response. Katie, who created the profile in 2009 at the urging of friends and family, rarely checked it.  But shortly after Tony messaged her, Katie decided to make more of an effort. She updated her profile and started to return messages — including those sent from Tony.  The two hit it off. Match.com messages turned into emails, which turned into texts and eventually into talking on the phone.  Katie said she was “completely smitten” by Tony. Despite Katie recalling that the first date was filled with the standard awkward moments, the next day at work she was saying, “I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it.”  She happily deleted her Match.com profile and has been in love ever since.   On New Year’s Eve 2015, Tony proposed in their home in front of their three dogs.

The wedding was imbued with Hawaiian touches, as the two live in Ewa Beach, on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.  Guests were greeted at cocktails with an Hawaiian trio, along with orchid leis flown in from Hawaii and a Hawaiian style buffet.   And, Katie had a surprise special hula dance for Tony that she learned for the wedding.  Malia Humschild from Lanikai, Hawaii, taught her the dance.   Congratulations!!!
