New England Beach Wedding
What an amazing weekend. We started our weekend with a ferry ride from Rhode Island to gorgeous Block Island. On the ride over we met up with David Morley of Zinnia Films, who were also filming the Saturday night reception. The entire bridal party had arrived earlier in the week and had already enjoyed riding mopeds around the island, hanging out and a lobster bake at Mansion House on Thursday night. We arrived in time for a lovely rehearsal dinner at the Spring House, hosted by the groom’s parents. Saturday, Joe and I got up early to scout locations around Block Island. The South Lighthouse was our absolute favorite location, so we planned to find time to photograph Shannon and Paul at this beautiful location. We then split up with Joe finding the groom and groomsmen, while I headed over to Mansion House to photograph the girl’s getting ready. The ceremony at St. Andrews Church on Block Island had a special ring bearer, Dozer, Shannon and Paul’s furry member of the family. In addition, Father Tom, a close family friend who had flown in from Colorado, officiated the ceremony. After a group photograph of all of the guests on the steps of the church, the bridal party enjoyed some time together on the beach. The reception ended with a bon fire on the beach and music by Jon O’Neil. The next day, Joe and I enjoyed a bike ride around the 7 mile island (yes, we had to do it twice to make it last, but it was gorgeous!). Congratulations Shannon and Paul!
