Katie and Tony met in Hawaii on in 2014.  Tony messaged Katie but did not getting an immediate response. Katie, who created the profile in 2009 at the urging of friends and family, rarely checked it.  But shortly after Tony messaged her, Katie decided to make more of an effort. She updated her profile and started to return messages — including those sent from Tony.  The two hit it off. messages turned into emails, which turned into texts and eventually into talking on the phone.  Katie said she was “completely smitten” by Tony. Despite Katie recalling that the first date was filled with the standard awkward moments, the next day at work she was saying, “I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it.”  She happily deleted her profile and has been in love ever since.   On New Year’s Eve 2015, Tony proposed in their home in front of their three dogs.

The wedding was imbued with Hawaiian touches, as the two live in Ewa Beach, on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.  Guests were greeted at cocktails with an Hawaiian trio, along with orchid leis flown in from Hawaii and a Hawaiian style buffet.   And, Katie had a surprise special hula dance for Tony that she learned for the wedding.  Malia Humschild from Lanikai, Hawaii, taught her the dance.   Congratulations!!!

Lauren and Martin met while in a study group back in their college days.  Martin used asking for Lauren’s notes as a reason to get her phone number.  It didn’t take long for them to start dating.  Their romance quickly blossomed as these two pursued called medicine.  Martin, currently in his residency, and Lauren, currently on her way to her MD were engaged at the same restaurant where they enjoyed their first date.  After he proposed, the two met their parents at a different restaurant just down the road.

The weekend started with a welcome/rehearsal party at the American Visionary Art Museum on Friday.  The ceremony and reception  was held the next day in downtown Baltimore at the Peabody Library.   The library seemed a most fitting location to hold their ceremony, as a library was where their relationship originated.  Beneath gorgeous florals designed by Wicked Willow,  the two said “I do.”  Occassions Catering provided a dinner of roasted lobster tail with garden risotto.  Dessert was the Flight of the bumble bee and Sugar Bakers cake.  Guests were sent off with chocolates from Baltimore’s own The Velvet Chocolatier.  And the entire night was brought to a close with a flurry of pink ribbons.
